Jackie has been wearing hearing aids since she was 5 years old. Hearing loss runs in her family and her dad, sister and nephew wear hearing aids, as well as one of Jackie’s four year old twin sons. Both of her sons attend preschool at Edmonton’s School for the Deaf, and Jackie understands about the effects of having a hearing loss on one’s speech and language development and dealing with a hearing loss, day to day. She is passionate about helping people hear better and understand about their hearing loss, and hopes to make the transition to better hearing an enjoyable experience.
Jackie did two years of her Bachelor of Arts before moving into the Hearing Aid Practitioner Program, and graduated from Grant McEwan University on the Dean’s List in 2004, and has over 10 years work experience. Jackie have been a registered member of the College of Hearing Aid Practitioners of Alberta (CHAPA) since October 2004, and was certified by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) in December 2004.
