Hearing loss runs in her family and her dad, sister and nephew wear hearing aids, as well as one of Jackie’s four year old twin sons. Both of her sons attend preschool at Edmonton’s School for the Deaf, and Jackie understands about the effects of having a hearing loss on one’s speech and language development and dealing with a hearing loss, day to day.
