What to expect at your hearing test?

The best possible treatment is simple and easy. There are three steps to start:

What to expect at your hearing test infographic

  1. A hearing assessment – You sit restfully in a noise-controlled environment wearing a comfortable set of headphones. You will be asked to press a button in response to a series of tones. Your responses will help us know the exact state of your hearing health. The test will last about an hour.
  2. An examination – Once we have quantified your hearing health, one of our hearing care professionals will examine your ears. The examination is painless and will help us determine possible causes if there is hearing loss (e.g. wax build up, infection).
  3. An interview – This is the most important step in the process. Our hearing care professional will ask you about how your hearing health has affected you. It’s a simple conversation that will yield the final pieces needed to make the perfect recommendation to fit your needs.

You and your loved ones also receive advice on how to best communicate in different everyday situations, both with and without a hearing aid.

Why should you get hearing aids?

If you're experiencing hearing loss, getting hearing aids can provide numerous benefits for your well-being and overall quality of life. Consider the following reasons to choose hearing aids:

Improved Happiness: Research has determined that hearing aid wearers are three times more likely to experience increased happiness compared to those without hearing aids. By using hearing aids, individuals can regain their ability to hear and engage in conversations, enjoy social interactions, and actively participate in various activities. This improvement in communication and overall hearing health can contribute to a greater sense of happiness and well-being.

1 in 4 hearing aids wearers have better relationships: Hearing loss can create barriers in effective communication, leading to misunderstandings, frustration, and isolation. By wearing hearing aids, individuals can actively participate in conversations, understand speech more clearly, and connect with others on a deeper level.

To explore suitable hearing solutions for your specific needs, we recommend scheduling a hearing test at our local clinic. Our experienced hearing care professionals will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your hearing and provide personalized recommendations.

Additionally, we offer free hearing aid trial to ensure the chosen devices are the right fit for your unique hearing needs.

Don't let hearing loss hold you back from enjoying life to the fullest. Contact our Elmsdale clinic today to schedule a free hearing aid trial and take the first step towards better hearing.

How do hearing aids work?

This is how hearing aids work

  • Digital hearing aids are made up of a powerful minicomputer.
  • The minicomputer analyses the sound environment from data gathered by the microphones. The computer selects the sounds you need help with.
  • The highest quality and best hearing aids only amplify the parts of sound you need help with. They also remove any excess sound and amplify the personalized result in your ear.

Professional Ear Wax Cleaning Services

Ear wax, also known as cerumen, is a natural substance secreted by glands in the ear canal. An excess buildup of wax can occur in some individuals.

Ear wax serves as a natural defense mechanism against foreign particles, dust, and bacteria, preventing them from entering the inner ear. It also helps to keep the ear canal moisturized, preventing dryness and irritation. Despite its benefits, an overproduction or inadequate removal of ear wax can result in blockages, leading to symptoms such as earache, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), and temporary hearing loss.

If you're experiencing discomfort or difficulty hearing due to excessive ear wax, it may be time to consider ear cleaning. We offer professional ear wax removal services to help you maintain your hearing health.

What to Expect?

During your appointment, our hearing care professionals will conduct a thorough assessment of your hearing health, including examining the ear canal using specialized instruments. Based on our findings, we will recommend the most appropriate method for ear wax removal.
